– Goods jettisoned from a vessel.

– Casting property overboard to lighten a vessel in time of
peril.
JOINT TENANCY
– Ownership of property shared equally by two or more parties
under which the survivor assumes complete ownership. This is different
from a tenancy in common where the heirs of a deceased party to the
tenancy inherit his or her share.
JURISDICTION – The limit or extent
within which the powers of a legal authority concerned with the administration
of justice may be exercised.
JURISDICTION CLAUSE
– A clause, in an insurance or reinsurance contract, which defines
the area of legal authority in which any disputes between the parties
shall be settled.
