World of Insurance is full of Industry-specific terms and
phrases, many of which are somewhat confusing to the layperson.
In many instances there are seemingly normal words we use
everyday which take on a new meaning if used in an insurance
situation - not only can this be confusing, but it also can
affect your understanding of important contractual terms and
obligations!
Because of this, we have compiled a listing of several key Insurance-specific
and insurance related terms, together with a basic definition
or explanation of each one. Please note that here in Trinidad
we operate under the British system of Insurance, and in different
areas of the world some of these terms may have different meanings
- as such, we would always recommend that regardless of where
